Welcome! This blog is in development. My name is Mary Jo Anderson. I’m a Catholic journalist who has thus far resisted creating her own blog because it is about all the fun I can stand just to cruise around reading and commenting at your blogs. However, some have sweetly suggested it is time that I reciprocate.
I’ll be tinkering around with headers and widgets and all that blog stuff for awhile–I’m sorry for any inconvenience. Please tell me what sort of things you think are important to have on the sidebar. Do you find an extensive blogroll useful, or distracting? All suggestions are welcome.
Comment moderation is turned off. My viewpoints will be from an orthodox Catholic perspective, but sincere differences of opinion and perspective make for lively exchanges; please feel free to express strong positions if you’re so moved, but my children might check-in, so appropriate vocabulary is much appreciated.
A note about my avatar: it is the symbol of the Camino de Santiago. (The Way of St. James) The Camino is one of the most famous and beloved pilgrimages of all time. Pope John Paul II said it was instrumental in the creation of Europe. This symbol, a stylized cockle shell, is found on rocks, stone fences, the side of a barn, over door posts of bars and refugios…as a sign to pilgrims, “This way to St. James .” In 1999 I made this pilgrimage with one of my sisters….the experience captivated my heart and much of my soul. I suppose that forevermore I’ll see myself as a pilgrim…I’ve been back three times now and hope to return again…and again.
I’m looking forward to hearing from you– all of you who stumble across this blog. Welcome, welcome!

Saw you on LHLA tonight; great job! I am interested in the resources that you have available to read on 2008 candidates. I missed the URL for your site; would you send it to me? Thanks. Love your contributions. God bless you.
